Reality of Eid e Milad un Nabi

Despite significance of 12th Rabi ul Awal, a debate has been started on the topic and an occasion which could prove to be a great source of unity has caused a source of division in the Muslim Ummah. Since the day when someone started to celebrate Eid e Milad un Nabi, a new discussion on the topic has started. There are many arguments in favor and against this occasion. The critics main objection is that this is a bidaat (new invention in the religion). While the others say that though it is bidaat, it is a good one and they derive support from the Taravih, which was declared by Hazrat Umer (R.A.) as bidaat, but he liked it because that was considered as a good bidaat. There are fatwas in favor and against this event.

However, despite all this, one thing every sect of Muslims should keep in mind is 'tollerence'. If they follow this basic principle, there would remain nothing for fighting and teasing each other. Those who think it right should not show discrimination towards those who do not think it right. And those who think it not right should not raise hue and cry on those who celebrate this event with full zeal and zest.
